Billy provides many services, but primarily sees clients coping with relationships (premarital or marital communication/conflict), spirituality (deconstruction, crisis of faith), and/or addiction. He also enjoys providing counseling for adolescents.
When counseling those in relationships, he uses a Gottman-informed approach. Dr. John Gottman’s research has followed thousands of couples and uncovered what the longest-lasting and happiest partnerships seem to have in common. Billy also offers a 5-session workshop to help couples prepare for marriage and provides his premarital counseling clients a certificate of completion to submit when applying for a marriage license.
In general, for couples and families, Billy leans more heavily into a client-centered approach, attending to the needs of each person in an empathic way. For individuals, he mainly stays within the modality of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). He is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
When Billy is not working, he enjoys podcasts, yoga, and adventures with his wife and three children.
